REALMS OF WATER, A BOOK TO DISCOVER WATERS, LANDS AND TERROIRS
What do Andreas Larsson, named best sommelier in the world in 2007, Ghislain de Marsily, a hydrogeologist and member of the French Académie des Sciences, and Yu Hui Tseng, world renowned tea master, have in common?
- They all share the same passion for water and its terroirs, which they each discuss in Realms of water – a journey of understanding the sources of natural mineral water.
This book is an ode to nature and the subterranean, earthly forces that shape this precious liquid; it is an invitation to the reader to see mineral water in a new light. Alternating between visual evocations and tales, this beautiful book depicts these mysterious lands and demystifies a natural process that is constantly beginning anew.
Realms of water will be available from November 2010.
THE TASTE OF WATER
Every mineral water has its own identity, its individual taste signature. The land and the soil, vegetation and climate all help determine its taste. Fresh, effervescent, clear, fluid, sweet or perhaps astringent, all these characteristics are linked to the land where water is born.
There are as many unique tastes of water as terroirs and soils where they come from.
Photographer Sandrine Alouf travelled to 15 different springs in France, Switzerland, Belgium, England, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Lebanon, Vietnam, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil to be able to express the beauty of these lands and their terroir.
