We are supporting social entrepreneurship, inclusivity and women’s empowerment this week in Paris at the Women’s Forum Global Meeting and a conference organised by the Mayshad Foundation at Unesco.
The Women’s Forum Global Meeting will explore, from a distinctly female perspective, how to bridge the divides between different sectors of society to move towards more inclusive progress for all. The Mayshad Foundation, which focuses on developing youth and women empowerment programmes, will look closely at the role of the private sector in capacity-building in Africa during its conference on 15 November.
Social entrepreneurs push the boundaries of innovation to identify sustainable solutions to issues affecting their communities, while also identifying new business opportunities and models. As part of the Global Youth Initiative, we are working with social entrepreneurs in Africa to scale up their businesses in partnership with Ashoka and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
Our colleague, Betty Hailu, Corporate Affairs Director at Nestlé Waters Zone Asia Oceania Africa, will be an active participant at both these events. Here she is discussing how Nestlé Waters contributes to addressing some of the major challenges facing society.
