A partnership between Sanpellegrino Group and the Italian Federation of Parks and Nature Reserves (Federparchi) will transform the Acqua Panna reserve in Tuscany into an open-air laboratory for biodiversity.
To protect and promote the land behind the brand’s smooth-tasting mineral water and to raise awareness about the importance of biodiversity, some 1300 hectares of land around the Acqua Panna source will be opened to research.
Known as “Acqua Panna’s Source of Biodiversity,” the project is part of Nestlé’s work to help fulfill Sustainable Development Goal 15, which aims to protect and restore land ecosystems. It will include a census and monitoring of the area’s flora and fauna and, ultimately, contribute to environmental sustainability and the fight against climate change. The project is also in line with Nestle’s commitment to Caring for Water, with the objective of protecting water as a fundamental element for the health of people and the planet.
