Our brand La Vie and Nestlé Vietnam joined seven other consumer goods + packaging companies in a new coalition. It aims to contribute to a greener Vietnam by driving circular economy and making recycling of packaging more accessible and sustainable.
They have formed a not-for-profit initiative named Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam (PRO Vietnam). PRO Vietnam’s ambition is that, by 2030, all packaging material put into the market by its participating members shall be collected for recycling.
Apart from La Vie and Nestlé Vietnam, the other founding members of PRO Vietnam are Coca-Cola Vietnam, FrieslandCampina, Nutifood, Suntory Pepsico Vietnam, Tetra Pak Vietnam and TH Group. This is the first time that business competitors collaborate in Vietnam to have a positive impact on the local environment.
As leading brands in Vietnam, these companies understand that while packaging helps to solve one problem, it can also contribute to another. This is especially true where there is inadequate waste management and a lack of recycling infrastructure. In these places, packaging becomes a wasted resource that our increasingly strained planet cannot sustain.
