10 years after the acquisition of Sources Minérales Henniez, bottlers of mineral water in Switzerland since 1905, we have invested CHF 25 million in our Henniez production site. The project, called H2Orizon 2020, will improve efficiency by modernizing equipment and processes, as well as stimulate innovation and reduce ecological impact.
Working in synergy with local partners
For the last decade, we have collaborated closely with the Broye region , in the canton of Vaud and have invested a total of CHF 48 million in our Swiss sites and the Henniez water source.
H2Orizon 2020 = + Innovation + Efficiency + Ecology
This new investment of CHF 25 million is the largest ever made in the bottling plant situated in the industrial zone of Treize-Cantons. H2Orizon 2020 will result in more flexible and competitive production to respond even better to client and customer expectations, as well as future production needs.
The key elements of H2Orizon 2020, which will be implemented between 2018 and 2020, include innovation, with the installation of a new production space for the preparation of flavored waters and fruit juices. Efficiency will be significantly improved with the replacement of two ageing bottling lines with one modern, more efficient line. Ecology is the watchword for the planned 2019 relocation of production from the company’s secondary site, in the village of Henniez, to the principal factory in the Treize-Cantons industrial zone. Moving these operations 2.5 kilometers away will sharply reduce road traffic in the village center. In addition, we will economize more than 25,000 cubic meters of water per year thanks to more efficient machines and processes.
Protecting the environment, sustaining employment
Following the H2Orizon 2020 project, the Henniez village site will be closed in early 2020. This reorganization will not result in any personnel layoffs. The municipality of Henniez is very satisfied with the project, stating, “The investment that Nestlé Waters has committed for the Treize-Cantons site is a strong signal for our region and for the sustainability of jobs.”
“Thanks to this investment, we reinforce the Henniez production site and equip it for the future development of our strong brands,” stated Alessandro Rigoni, General Director, Nestlé Waters Switzerland. “We have established an exemplary partnership with the most important actors of the region, notable with the ECO-Broye environmental project, which protects Henniez’ water resources. And we will continue on this path in the future.”
