Four world-renowned architecture firms presents their projects to redesign the new home flagship factory of San Pellegrino Terme in Italy.
A tribute to tradition, terroir and a sparkling future
S.Pellegrino, the world’s leading sparkling mineral water brand, is proud to discover the selection projects of the world’s most distinguished architecture firms who will design its new flagship factory at its source in San Pellegrino Terme, Italy. The winner will be chosen from a pool of four international architects, each renowned for their innovative and futuristic projects: New York & Copenhagen’s BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group), Holland’s MVRDV, Oslo & New York-based Snøhetta and Italy’s Michele De Lucchi.
The new bottling facility in San Pellegrino Terme will convey S.Pellegrino’s creative vision of its existing landscape breathing new life into an industrial working site as well as its commitment to efficiency and environmental sustainability.
It is planned to provide a favorable working environment to its valued employees as well as a destination for visitors from all over the world.
A design competition on an international scale
The design competition for the future factory was launched on July 22nd 2016 and challenged leading global architects to imagine the new home for S.Pellegrino.
“All four architectural firms interpreted our brand’s rich history and values so well that it will be extremely difficult to determine a winner. On the other hand, that is why we have invited four architecture studios of such an international stature to take part in this tender; we want to ensure the new home of S.Pellegrino mineral water, which is intended to become the signature of our Group, will amaze visitors from all corners of the world.” explained Stefano Agostini, President and CEO of the Sanpellegrino Group.
Projects designed by the four firms invited to participate in the competition were presented to the Judging Committee coordinated by Professor Luca Molinari, Architecture Consulting & Curatorship and curator of the tender. Members of the committee included: Marco Settembri, Executive Vice President Nestlé S.A., Head of Nestlé Waters; Magdi Batato, Executive Vice President Nestlé S.A., Head of Operations; Stefano Agostini, President & CEO of Sanpellegrino S.p.A. Nestlé Waters Italy and international personalities.
