Buxton 100% recycled plastic bottles


Buxton Natural Mineral Water has launched 75cl and 1 litre bottles made from 100% recycled PET plastic. The new bottles are manufactured entirely from used plastic significantly reducing the amount of virgin plastic in circulation.

The UK launch of rPET bottles is the latest in Nestlé Waters’ efforts to increase the use of recycled plastic to 35% worldwide by 2025. The rest of the Buxton range, currently made with a minimum of 20% recycled plastic, will follow by end 2021.

Vittel train carbon neutral commitment


Since late October 2019, VITTEL® natural mineral water has been transported by the first hybrid bi-mode locomotive in Europe. The new EURODUAL train transports VITTEL® natural mineral water between the plant located in the Vosges and the Arles logistics platform near Marseille, more than 600 km away.

Sta. Maria AWS certificate ceremony


The Nestlé Waters Sta. María factory has become the very first plant in Mexico to receive the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) certificate.

The international standard was given to the company in recognition for the way it looks after water. It achieved a ‘Gold' AWS standard which means the company has met strict criteria for the way it manages water, both in its own operations and for the benefit of local people that live near the plant.

first recycled plastic bottle in France

Nov 12 – Nestlé Waters is today launching the first 100% recycled plastic 75CL bottle in France. It is the latest in the company’s efforts to build a circular economy for plastics and increase the use of recycled plastic in our bottles to 35% worldwide by 2025.

Tummyfish app

As part of Nestlé’s ‘Healthier Kids initiative’, Nestlé Middle East created the Tummyfish programme to inspire behaviour change in a fun, creative way.

The app is designed to teach children why regularly drinking water makes for good hydration. The digital fish that appears to swim in a child’s belly, is happier and more active when it is given water to drink, but sad and slow when fed sugar-sweetened drinks instead.

inauguration Levissima fitness area in Milan

Mineral water brand Levissima and the Municipality of Milan are supporting sustainability and sports by opening a new fitness area at Parco Sempione in the city, built from recycled plastics.

The rebuit ‘Percoso Vita’ features 15 stations with training equipment. Stations have recycled plastic signs explaining people can work out, and scannable QR Codes allow them to access workout videos performed by marathon runner Daniel Vecchioni.

Nestlé today announced its ambition to achieve zero net greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. It embraces the most ambitious aim of the Paris Agreement, to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C. Ahead of the U.N. Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit this month, Nestlé will sign the ‘Business Ambition for 1.5°C’ pledge.

la vie nestle vietnam packaging recycling organization

Our brand La Vie and Nestlé Vietnam joined seven other consumer goods + packaging companies in a new coalition. It aims to contribute to a greener Vietnam by driving circular economy and making recycling of packaging more accessible and sustainable. They have formed a not-for-profit initiative named Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam (PRO Vietnam). PRO Vietnam’s ambition is that, by 2030, all packaging material put into the market by its participating members shall be collected for recycling.

Valvert recycled plastic bottle rPET

It’s a first for Valvert, our Belgian natural mineral water, and a European first for Nestlé Waters. A sustainable water in a more sustainable bottle: Valvert launches today its new bottle made entirely from recycled plastic (rPET). This innovation is one of the tangible proofs of Nestlé's worldwide commitment to make its packaging 100% reusable or recyclable by 2025. It is another important step in Nestlé Waters’ approach to tackling packaging waste and protecting water resources.

The bottle is another milestone for Valvert's journey towards sustainability. Nestlé is already working in partnership with local farmers and communities to protect the natural mineral water source around its abottling facility in Etalle (BE). The bottle will be available in retail stores this month in Belgium and Luxembourg.

World Clean-up day in Italy

Marking World Ocean’s Day on June 8, over 5000 employees and their families from Nestlé Waters and Nestlé local markets worked with local communities and NGOs worldwide to remove plastic waste in local water bodies.

Promoting efforts to improve local habitats and help create a waste-free future, teams at 66 sites in 45 countries worldwide collected plastic waste and debris from shorelines, rivers and local water bodies in partnership with local organisations and communities.

Poland Spring recycled plastic

Poland Spring is on track to be first major bottled water brand in the U.S. to convert its portfolio to recycled plastic.

America’s leading spring water brand announced today that it has started transitioning its packaging to recycled plastic (rPET), and plans to be the first major bottled water brand in the US to reach 100% recycled plastic across its still water portfolio by 2021.

This month, the brand’s 1-liter bottles will begin being made using 100% rPET. In April, the brand launched a premium offering, Poland Spring® ORIGIN in 900mL bottles, which are also made entirely of recycled plastic.

Shoppers in Lebanon are being encouraged to recycle their used PET plastic bottles and empty cans at Reverse Vending Machines (RVM) in supermarkets, in return for a two litre Nestlé Pure Life mineral water bottle – with the aim of cutting the amount of plastic waste that ends up in landfill or in the ocean.
