In the US Poland Spring partnered the New York marathon for the 20th time on 2nd November, reinforcing its commitment to healthy hydration and promoting a healthy lifestyle not just to the local, but also to the global community. The Nestlé Waters brand’s activities covered the whole week preceding the Marathon, with the Poland Spring 5-mile kick-off race for joggers in Central Park – followed by the distribution of thousands of bottles during the week in Manhattan and presence at the Marathon Health and Fitness Expo. On the day of the Marathon itself, as well as bottles being available to runners at each mile marker, Mile 17 was the official Poland Spring Hydration Zone.

Later in November, under the banner of the ‘Time to Move Against Obesity’ campaign in Turkey, Nestlé Pure Life backed the Istanbul marathon, during which runners cross the Bosphorus bridge between Asia and Europe. As well as distributing bottles of water, Nestlé Pure Life also invited Turkish dietician and freediving world record-holder Şahika Ercümen as a guest speaker to their stand.

In France, Vittel organized a fun run in Paris at the most unusual time of 2 am on 30 October. By organizing the Time to Move Run at the very hour the clocks went back for winter, participants couldn’t fail to do their best time ever! The race was part of the 2016 ‘Time to Move, Leave Everything to Vittel’ campaign, which has aimed particularly at providing resources to people who generally lack the time to take regular exercise.

All of these initiatives, backing running events and marathons in some of the world’s most emblematic cities, have engaged with athletes, sports’ enthusiasts, local communities, Nestlé Waters staff and the general public around the world. They have had considerable reach and impact, highlighting the combined importance of healthy hydration and eating habits and exercise to contribute fighting obesity and more generally as part of a healthy lifestyle.
