Project WET

As the world leader in bottled water, we see part of our mission as sharing our knowledge of water and water resources management, especially towards the future generations. This is why we have supported Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) for the last 16 years.

Project WET is an international, scientific and educational program of which we are the main sponsor. It aims to educate the world’s children on the importance of water and the need to protect it. The program is supported by one of the most extensive water education materials kits in the world, designed around hands-on investigations, demonstrations, science experiments, educational games and stories, to stimulate understanding of water resources.

Created in 1984, Project WET trained 30,000 teachers in 2009, reaching several million children in almost 50 countries – including 12 countries in Africa.

Moreover, Nestlé Waters has teamed up with local authorities to develop new Project WET initiatives in 10 countries. In Italy for instance, we set up Project WET in schools located around the eight springs the company operates. Under our initiative, Project WET took on a new dimension in Vietnam, where it is now used in all of the schools in Ho Chi Minh City.

Thanks to Nestle Waters, project Wet has been introduced in three new countries in 2009/2010: China, Thailand and South Corea
