Packaging is the first contributor to our products’ environmental footprint.
For this reason, Nestlé Waters focused its attempts on the reduction of PET bottled water impacts. Since 2005, we obtained concrete results.
Packaging represents 40% of GHG emissions and 49% of non-renewable energy consumption for an average Nestlé Waters product in 2010.
Packaging has also been the main area of focus for the overall reduction of these impacts.
With 71g CO2eq and 1.6MJ (megajoules) per litre in 2010 :
- GHG emissions have been reduced by 34% since 2005
- Non-renewable energy impacts for the packaging phase have decreased by 26%
