Delivering Consistency

Production chain

Bottled water is one of the most highly regulated sectors in the food industry. Bottled water is intended solely for human consumption and therefore has a direct impact on public health; it obviously must meet the strictest health standards.

In the United States, the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) is the regulating body in the field. With the Safe Drinking Water Act, which applies to all types of drinking water, as a basis, the FDA sets specific standards for different types of bottled water, determines the maximum mineral and microbiological levels that the products must meet and defines the quality tests that must be used. In Europe, the European Commission plays a similar role, completing the national legislation in place in each member state.

Hépar quality control

As a world leader in the sector, we have our own quality criteria that complement the standards set by regulations, sometimes going well beyond them. These internal standards also apply in developing countries, where local regulations are lacking or inexistent

In addition to a guaranteed high and consistent level of quality, our spring and natural mineral waters, do also fulfill another commitment: to bring consumers water with unique properties. This is achieved mainly through a careful selection of underground sources, which have been preserved for decades or even centuries, so that we may enjoy their natural and balanced mineral composition and their uniques taste characteristics.

These are rare sources that provide naturally filtered water which undergoes no chemical treatments, with no disinfectants or preservatives added to it. We also guarantee this unique water is used in a sustainable way.

Delivering this superior quality water in a consistent way to our consumers would be impossible without bottling. The bottle is the last link in the chain - from the source all the way up to the moment it is drunk - that preserves this water from any external pollution that could alter its original characteristics.
